1970 MGB Roadster
A beautiful MGB roadster with new paint, interior and desirable factory hardtop.

Serial Number: GHN5UA195249G

This is an exceptionally nice, solid, chrome-bumper MGB that you would be proud to drive anywhere. The car has new dark British Racing Green paint, new upholstery, carpets, a mechanical refurbishment and a very desirable and hard-to-find factory hardtop.

The car was acquired out of a dusty collection of cars. I purchased the car because the body appeared original, with very minor rust and no apparent accident damage or signs of bondo. The car was stripped of all lights, glass and trim and received a nice driver quality, but not concours, paint job in the original dark British Racing Green. All body / paint work was carried out by a respected restoration shop in Maryland with extensive experience with MGB’s. The interior was stripped and completely re-upholstered and re-carpeted.

New and/or replaced items include:

New paint
New grille assembly
New carpets
New upholstery
New door panels
Various seals, weatherstripping rubber parts throughout
Reverse light lenses
Hardtop rubber seals
Hardtop side windows replaced
The tires are brand new 185/70x14 radials.

Everything electrical works even the interior light and lighter. The electrical wiring appears stock and shows no signs of “shadetree electrical engineering,” so common to these cars. The car starts instantly, the transmission shifts smoothly up and down, the brakes are firm and the handbrake works.

Here is a car I would feel completely comfortable driving and enjoying and would not be embarrassed to take to any British car gathering. This is not a concours restored car, but a solid, no excuse MGB. It has a clear Virginia title, is currently registered and has a recent VA state inspection.

I’ve owned many MGB’s; if properly maintained, they can be reliable, economical to run cars that will keep up with modern traffic, are stylish, enjoyable to drive and will only appreciate in value.

Life is short, why drive boring cars?
